MIOMO Aotearoa is committed to creating inclusive and safe spaces for all course participants, their families and friends; mentors, facilitators and staff.

MIOMO Aotearoa embraces diversity, including but not limited to diversity in ethnicity, nationality, gender, gender identity, physical ability, sexual orientation, neurodiversity and religious beliefs.

MIOMO Aotearoa’s 4-day life skills course requires participants to attend of their own free will (see Terms & Conditions). Anyone can leave at any time should they wish.

MIOMO Aotearoa has zero tolerance for any forms of in-person or online discrimination, bullying, harassment, intimidation or victimization. Any claims of this during the course are treated with the utmost care and will not be tolerated.

MIOMO Aotearoa is committed to creating safe spaces for all course participants to express themselves, based on their life experiences and interpretations of course content. This expression could be in small group discussions or in written form. We expect communication to be respectful of the diverse environment we operate in.

Any breach of the above commitments, be it by a staff member or course participant will be addressed immediately. If the behaviour cannot be corrected in a safe manner, the involved person/s will be asked to leave to ensure safe spaces can be maintained for all.

Please note that all staff members have been NZ Police Vetted and are held accountable to the Board to uphold this policy.
